What Is Stem Cell Therapy?

There are different types of Stem Cells that are used to regenerate tissue. Embryonic cells are very powerful but carry a high risk of tumor formation. Induced pluripotent stem cells have high laboratory costs and low rate of conversion. Adult mesenchymal stem cells are the preferred cell as they have a wide scope of clinical applications and very low risk of complications. Mesenchymal stem cells are abundant in adipose fat tissue and can form bone, nerves, blood vessels and cartilage (as published by Vickers and Shparberg (2020) in Harvard University Press - see publication list).
